Before man inhabited Draconia and built their cities and civilization,
Dragons ruled
the land, but little is known of their ancient history.
Only Legends passed down through the ages allow us a glimpse of what
their world may
have been like.
From an age before the Dragons worked together to form the Legendary
Dragonspire, the
Lore of the Dragon's Den is considered by some to be the catalyst that
initiated the
development of the Dragon's culture and civilization.
Like most species the Dragons fought amongst themselves for Territory
and Dominance
which established the first basic social structure.
Beneath the hills at the base of Gryphon's Peak there is a Great Domed
cavern with
ceilings and walls that are smooth as marble.
It is said to be the Dragon's Den of Legend where Dragon's fought for
control of the
Den and their crashing against the rough interior in the heat of battle
generation
after generation is what wore the surfaces smooth.
In the first Age of Dragons the Dragon's Den was a symbol of power and
prestige.
The Dragon that held and controlled the Den was considered the Dragon
Supreme of
his kin and spent life defending the Den from those that would challenge
him and
claim the Dragon's Den as their own.
Over hundreds of years the Den passed from one Dragon to the next and
the fights to
control the Den and claim the title of Dragon Supreme evolved into
the Dragon Duel.
When Dragons began to Duel for control of the Den a code of Honor quickly
emerged
followed by rules, rituals, and tradition that became the cornerstone
of their
society as many clans began to form from the Dragons that served the
Dragon Supreme.
