A scroll of lore... the Old Language...

When you have also perused those documents, the knowledge in the scroll below will make even more sense.
Until then, I hope you find the scroll of the Old Tongue usefull...

Greeting Brother Druids,

What follows below is a collection of lore I managed to gather during my absence. It is scolarly in nature, but interesting nonetheless. It may or may not be of use in the telling of tales, which is our calling. Should anyone want to know more, or have any comments and questions, I will strive my best to answer. What should also be noted, is that the scroll makes mention of the lands of the Seekers, and the cities and places there... I have in my possession a map and a tome of knowledge describing the Seeker-lands, which I will share with you all very soon.
NOTES ON THE OLD TONGUE - THE LANGUAGE OF "NAHDIN"
--------------------------------------------------

Hail citizens of the Alliance!

This scroll is aimed at giving the reader some greater insight into the ancient language of our continent… the language of Nahdin. Although, Nahdin is not spoken by any folk in these times, some of it still remains to this day, especially where the names of places and people are concerned. Besides that, many of the words we use everyday are also remnants of Nahdin.

For this reason, this document has been written so that everyone may examine and know some few things about the Old Tongue that in the past had only fallen into the realm of the Druids and other scholars.

In particular, attention has been given to the way Nahdin words should be pronounced, as it was in the distant past. Only then will the true power of the words come forth, and allow the speaker to invoke the banes or virtues inherent to the Old Tongue. You may wonder which banes or virtues I am referring to… Well, friends… Have you ever wondered where the power of the Magi’s rune-magic is sourced from? Have you ever wondered in which language the scrolls of power are written? The selfsame scrolls that were so instrumental in cleansing Tristram of it’s demonic blight? The answers lie with the Old Tongue… with the language of Nahdin.

Also included in this scroll is a list of some Nahdin words and their meanings. Some of these words you will recognize at once, as you know and use them many times every day. For all that those words are commonplace to us, I implore you to never forget that it is part of the Old Tongue, Nahdin, and therefore to be respected and spoken with care… yes, even when we simply greet each other, or say yes and no… When you speak Nahdin, power flows from your voice and fills the air about you.

It is my sincerest hope that all of you who read this are filled with understanding and knowledge and that Kala will grant you wisdom.

Take care
